Just my luck. It’s a common enough phrase, but what does it really mean? I think it’s just an excuse to complain without really complaining. “Oh well, just my luck that it started to rain when I walked outside.” No, it’s not “just your luck,” it’s the weather not cooperating. “Just my luck. I didn’t finish my test;” no still not “just your luck,” study more. Maybe that will help you do better. You see, we need to stop blaming luck when we can’t find anything else to blame. It isn’t luck’s fault that something happened (for the most part); half the time, it’s not even something within our control, so why do we need to put the blame on something. Why can’t we just say well that sucks, then move on?
